6:40 am: The waves look a tad bigger in size this morning. At first look, the wave size looks 1 to 1.5 feet. The surface conditions are semi-choppy with the wind light to moderate onshore SE early. The marine forecast is calling for SE winds at 10-15 knots this afternoon. On the local buoy our early wave height reading is 2.3 feet at 6 seconds, up from yesterdays 1.6 feet at 6 seconds. You can see the ocean live on our cams page here.
.
7:05 am: Early morning photos are up in box #1 and you can see some slightly larger waves for your Thursday. Small overall but there are some knee high to maybe thigh high waves to be found. They are coming in sets, and it’s not consistent. In between sets, it looks near flat. The good news is the uptick in “trade wind” swell should fill in some more so since the 8 am reading this morning on the upstream NE Bahamas buoy is 4.6 ft @ 8 seconds in ESE swell. Some bump to the waves with the onshore wind early this morning….
12:35 pm: New mid & late morning surf photos are up in box #2 and you can see some better waves on this Thursday, as we head into afternoon. Will it stay this way? Well if the wind picks up it won’t. It could/would blow it out.. so surf before it gets too choppy?
