DetailsHere is some more footage from Quiksilver team manager Belly.. some great clips I hadn’t seen yet..
7:15 am: The surf came up yesterday and has held somewhat overnight. Sort of wonky looking early with the onshore. Wave size 2 to 2.5 feet, occasionally a little larger Onshore NE winds early this morning. The marine forecast calls for increasing E winds today. Our local buoy the early morning wave height reading is 4.6 feet at 11 seconds up from yesterdays 3.0 feet at 11 seconds. The water temperature is measured at 82.4 degrees offshore again this morning. You can see the ocean live by viewing The Surf Station Cam Page here.
.
8:00 am: Early morning photos are up box #1 and on second look it looks a little bigger than the first look. Shoulda known with the increased buoy height but yes you can see in the photos some strong NE to ENE lines with some push to it. Caught a ‘surfer on a wave’ which always gives better perspective of size. Bet there are some set waves to shoulder high. Sort of ‘sectioning down the beach’ but looks fun to me as occasionally the lefts look to really push southward. Those larger offshore swells are working their way in on occasion.…
.
1:10 pm: New afternoon photos are up box #2 with the buoy dropped some offshore so the waves look a little smaller than our dawn patrol report. Still waves for sure, just not as strong as earlier today
.
.
Evening note:
6:15 pm: New late afternoon to evening photos are up box #3 and you can see we have fun waves this evening! Super fun around the pier with a lot of the surf stars out. Some chest high waves with an occasional smooth face and overall fair form. Looks like fun waves all the way till dark tonight!
