Surf Reports comments:

6:45 am: Good Friday morning! The wind remained onshore overnight. It didn’t build the surf much just yet, although the local buoy is inching upward a tad in close period easterly swell. Wave size 1/2 a foot to 1 foot on the first early morning look and call. The wind is E/SE @ 9-12 mph creating semi-choppy conditions. The marine forecast calls for the wind to be SE today. On the local buoy, the early morning reading is 2.3 feet at 4 seconds, up a tad from yesterdays 1.3 feet at 6 seconds. Upstream in our ESE swell window, the Canaveral East buoy is showing an east wind swell approaching 4 feet at 6 seconds. You can see the ocean live by checking the surf station cams for a live look.

7:20 am: Early morning photos are up in box #1 and you can see we have choppy small scale waves for your Friday. Onshore winds and small overall with waves shin to knee high, not seeing anything much bigger than that, as of report time. As the wind continues to blow onshore we could see some thigh high peaks as the swell comes up some….

1:00 pm: New mid morning and mid day photos are up in box #2 and you can see the surf has not come up much since earlier today. And the not good news is the local buoy has not increased at all, in fact decreased in wave height measurements. So look for very small choppy surf for the afternoon and likely into the evening as well. The good news is, it’s a great day at the beach, with bright sunny blue clear skies and the sunshine is slowly warming the water up….
