6:55 am: The waves are smaller than yesterday this morning. Wave size down to 1/2 a foot to 1 foot. The surface conditions are semi-glassy with light SW winds. The marine forecast calls for the wind to be W today. The local buoy offshore is reading 1.6 feet at 8 seconds changed from yesterdays 1.3 feet at 8 seconds. The water temperature and local wind measurements at The Pier are here and A more ‘up to the minute’ timeline of our local wind is on The Surf Station Weather Station. Here is our north side pier cam and our south side pier cam to see the ocean live.

7:35 am: Early morning photos are up in box #1 and you can see the waves are considerably smaller than yesterday. The surface conditions are semi-glassy as the wind has shifted offshore, as of report time. Looks like overall smaller surf today….

11:00 am: The waves are still looking small scale this morning with very clean conditions. Our local winds are currently blowing out of the WSW @ 4 knots and our local buoy is reading 1.6 feet @ 9 seconds. The waves are mostly in the 1-2 foot, shin to knee high range with very good conditions. There’s a little wave out there for your small wave equipment on the right sandbar. The water temps have dropped a bit, making a dip in the ocean look very appealing during the midday heat.
