6:40 am: Onshore winds over night. A bit choppy and breaking inside with waves @ 1 to 1.5 feet. The wind is side-onshore SE early this morning. On our St Augustine buoy the current morning reading is 2.6 feet at 11 seconds, up from yesterdays early morning reading of 2 feet at 7 seconds . The marine forecast calling for brisk SE winds today. The water temperature is measured at 76.6 degrees this morning at The Pier this morning, You can see the ocean live by viewing The Surf Station Cam Page here.
.
7:15 am: Early morning photos are up and posted in box #1 and you can see it’s choppy with waves knee to thigh high looking at it early. It’s the last of the outgoing tide. After the tide bottoms out, turns, and starts pushing in, we may see an increase / push with incoming tide. Not a lot, but there is swell on the buoy offshore. The problem is the ENE waves are crossed up by the SE wind. this wind is forecast to increase.
So we will see what happens throughout the day, as it’s not flat and some spots could be fun for the hard cores that do not mind the chop. The water temperature is not bad now @ 76.6, which is good news

Left up from last night:
8:30 pm: Evening note: The swell didn’t come up any more after that initial increase. We took some video less than an hour ago and you can see some lefts still rolling in with light onshores. Will the swell hold overnight? We will find out soon enough. Check back early-early for a fresh update… over and out...
