The difficulty lies, not in the new ideas, but in escaping the old ones.

6:55 am: The waves look to be a little smaller early on this Saturday morning. The surface conditions are glassy with the waves looking 1 to occasionally 1.5 feet. The wind is super light west to near calm . On our local buoy the early morning wave height reading is 2.0 feet at 8 seconds down from yesterdays 2.3 feet at 8 seconds. Our local marine forecast calls for the wind to roll light onshore this afternoon. Our water temperature is measured at 79 degrees offshore this morning. You can see the ocean live by viewing The Surf Station Cam Page here.

7:45 am: Early morning photos are up and posted in box #1 and you can see we have small waves for your Saturday. Small overall but there are some knee high, to maybe a thigh high glassy wave to be found. Think the tide needs to start pushing in for a better hope of a surge in the swell. Overall it is smaller than yesterday for sure as the buoy has inched downward a little bit. At least it’s glassy, which is good news…

Left up from last night:
4:30 pm: New late afternoon photos are up in box #2 taken from 8th Street, pretty much right in front of THE DREDGE. The waves are funky right behind it, although once in a while an amazing zipping wave will push through. Down the beach some are where the surfers are surfing, and i didn’t get a good shot of them. Yes, there are some waves for your Friday evening happy hour surf session. Smallish overall, but there are some knee to thigh high semi-glassy lines to be found. Sort of sectioning off but some spots may be better. Some spots could be a little bigger too, but don’t want call it that without seeing that.
.
Misc: We are so bummed our 3rd Street Cam is down again. It glitched out and won’t come back online. Digging into the problem, it may be the power supply or the whole cam may need to be replaced. We ordered a new power supply, and this device will be in next week. I am sure we can fix it, it’s just a matter of time. What a pain. Please be patient; we will fix it. Hopefully this coming week.
