Great video. Brilliant surfer. And as seen here in this spot, what ultimately drove his popularity off the charts was when he finally started owning his insecurities. Not hiding them. Not apologizing for them. Just being authentic and admitting he had them like everybody else. It’s one of the same reasons people are drawn to Dane. You can be a superhuman surfer and still be human.
Well said Tim
Being kissed by God…Andy I loved you for being you. We love you for it still. Irons family…we love you, do not feel this loss by yourselves. This is what friends, community, aloha, living, is all about. Sharing your self with others…good, bad, ugly, beautiful, terrible. I’ll use the cliche: A sorrow shared is divided, a joy shared is multiplied. I wish you would not have felt so alone Andy, but you did not die in vain. Many will use your story to live more abundantly and starting with me I will share my pain, strive for what others say can not be done, and eternally search for more kisses from the most high God with whom you now reside…till later then, Sir Andy of the Iron Clan.
Much Love to all,
from a poor spirit
