6:55 am: The wind remained onshore overnight, so choppy surf . Not quite as big as yesterday looking 2 to 3 feet early. Still plenty of swell with the local buoy wave height reading 4.6 feet at 8 seconds down from yesterdays 6.6 feet at 10 seconds. The marine forecast calling for SE wind @ 10-15 knots today. The water temperature is measured at 73 degrees at The Pier this morning. And you can see the ocean live by viewing The Surf Station Cam Page here.

7:50 am: Early morning photos are up and posted in box #1 and you can see we have choppy surf to start the work week. I may have to down the size a little after viewing the photos as it may be considerably smaller than yesterday. There is still plenty of swell in the boy offshore, so maybe not. It’s quite choppy and junky looking early this morning. Incoming tide should help though.…

1:00 pm: It’s looking pretty wind blown and disorganized at report time, with waves in the 2 to 3 foot range or so. It’s drifty with lots of surface texture, with our local winds currently blowing out of the SE @ 13 knots. Our local buoy is currently reading 3.9 feet @ 10 seconds, down significantly from this weekend’s 6 foot readings, but there’s still plenty of swell out there with a longer period than we were seeing previously. Overall, it’s looking pretty messy out there at report time, but we’re hearing news that there are some open barrels to be found closer toward the pier so that may be worth checking out.
.
8:00 pm Evening note / report: New evening photos are up in box #3 with photos in the front of end of the slide show are from early afternoon at THE DREDGE. Some fun dumping waves there! Then the last 8 photos in the slide show are from this evening taken at 15th Street. You can see the waves are choppy and not near as good.
What will tomorrow be like? We will see early early tomorrow morning.. over and out..
