Wednesday:
7:00 am: The waves look a little smaller to start off this Wednesday morning. Our wave height is about knee to occ thigh high. The wind is offshore WSW @ 5-7 knots, the marine forecast calls for SW winds @ 20-25 knots (Local up to the minute wind info here). On the Grays Reef Buoy the groundswell height is 1.6 feet at 10 seconds down form yesterdays 2.0 feet at 10 seconds . Here is a look at the St. Augustine virtual buoy this morning.
7:35 am: The wind is beginning to increase sideoffshore so the surf is somewhat windblown. Small overall with a few freak set waves over knee high. The waves are ‘closing out on the inside’ for the most part…
2:00 pm: The wind is increasing more and more. It is from the offshore direction so it is blowing the waves smaller and smaller. Some big spray off the tops so the waves with the strong and gusty offshore SW to west wind. Check the photos in box #2 for the lastest photos from the beach…
6:30 pm: Small surf at dark as the strong offshore winds blow into the waves. Check the new photos in box #3 to see what it looked like just before dark.
Will it make waves in South Florida? We will find out over the next day or two…
And this will do it until tomorrow morning. We will be back in the morning with a fresh update.. Over and out..
