6:45 am: The ESE swell has dropped a little bit overnight. The wave height is 1 to occasionally up to 2 feet. The surface conditions are semi-glassy to semi-choppy with the wind SSW early at around 5-7 mph. Our marine forecast is calling for the wind to shift S this afternoon and increase then . Our local buoy is currently reading 2.0 feet at 9 seconds, down from yesterdays 2.3 feet at 9 seconds. Our water temperature is down to 82.8 degrees offshore. You can see the ocean live by viewing The Surf Station Cam Page here.
.
7:25 am: Early morning photos are up in box #1 and you can see the waves look a little bit smaller than this time yesterday. Smaller and not as clean with the wave size @ knee to maybe thigh high early. There may be some larger set waves somewhere as the buoy has only dropped a tad overnight….
.
2:05 pm: New photos are up and posted in box #2 taken late morning @ 10th Street. Very different now in that THE DREDGE is nearly right out front now. If you look to the left, it’s all bulldozers and big machinery with all the tons of pumped in sand. Look to right and just down a bit is still a somewhat normal beach with beachgoers as you can see in the photos. The waves? It’s now small overall with some knee high to thigh high semi-choppy waves late morning, and since then it has become choppier.
.
Left up from last night:
6:00 pm: New early evening photos are posted in box #3 and we concentrated on both sides of The Dredge for your Tuesday evening photo slide show presentation. It’s fascinating what is going on at our beach, isn’t it? And the waves …they look ok and good with not a large crowd out at report time. In fact, only a few surfers out. See the photos, and if there is time for a surf session and you like what you see, go for it!
This will do it unit early in the morning. over and out.. .
