Letter of the Day: Knee to Thigh High
New surfer here, just starting out. When you say waves are “knee to thigh high”, how is that measurement determined? Is it as if you are standing on the flat water? Seems like the waves are well over my head as I’m standing on the ocean floor. Thank you for the arification.
Surf Station Response:
Thanks for reaching out. You are correct, that measurement is determined as if you were standing on flat water, or surfing at the bottom of a wave.
Please let us know if you have any other questions and I’ll be happy to help.
