6:30 am… The surf is about the same in size to yesterday evening but with less wind and the conditions are cleaner and more manageable. Surf is running around waist to rib high overall with some chest high sets. The local buoy is reading 4.9 feet at 9.1 seconds. You can see the data on the local buoy . You can also see the surf early here on our Freemium page, and you can check out the latest marine forecast here. 8:30 am… Some fun looking waves as we head into mid morning. It’s bigger than earlier as more of the swell from Tropical Storm Alberto fills in. Some over chest high set waves with sideoffshore NNW to NW winds. Some lefts pushing down the beach at times , especially at key spots and the rights are very fast. Overall it looks semi-glassy too… 9:30 am… The wind looks like it is trying to go more northerly. If it does, then there goes the glassy conditions. Some fun waves this morning and Scott Calvin and others were on it early. You can see him in one of the waves in the new photos in box #2. Lets hope the wind doesn’t clock… 2:25 pm… Well of course the wind did clock so the surf is much much choppier now. Not near as good as the surface conditions are down right choppy and the form is drifty and all bumped up. Although the best of today’s waves are well behind us, there is plenty of power and swell if you don’t mind putting up with the chop… 6:30 pm Evening Note: Choppy surf all afternoon. Photos from mid afternoon and early evening are up in box #3. The last 2 in the slide show were just taken. The brisk onshore winds and keeping it choppy. So we will wait and see what it looks like in the morning. we will be back super early with a fresh update.. over and out.. 8:45 pm Evening Note #2: The wind died down and then the wind offshore just before dark! So the waves are already starting their clean up! This is such big and good news as it means the surf could be much cleaner than expected. Nothing is definite when forecasting Ma Ocean but offshore winds and waves are always a good sign. Good night, and check back in the morning…..
