6:45 am… The waves look a tad smaller than yesterday. It’s semi-glassy to glassy early , a little lumpy and mushy, with overall good form. (see pier data here) . You can see the data on the local buoy . You can also see the surf early here on our Freemium page, and you can check out the latest marine forecast here. 7:40 am… Early morning surf and sunrise photos are up in box #1 and you can see there are some lines still . The swell direction is ESE and it’s fairly clean this morning with the light offshore westerly wind. The swell is sort of fat at the higher tide so it’s mushy… until the wave dumps over on the inside. Some spots are better than others, for sure… 8:30 am… Offshore winds and cloudy skies at the beach as we head toward mid morning. Not as big as yesterday, for sure… 10:45 am…. It looks like we have some rain moving in as of report time. There is still a bit of surf leftover and the conditions are clean as of report time. The surf is running in the knee to thigh high range with a few set waves in the waist high range. The surf looks to be a little bit weak and breaking quick so it does seem hard to get a good one. If you want to surf get on it now before this storm moves in. New photos are up in box #2.… 5:35 pm Evening Note: The clean conditions lasted all the way into mid afternoon. Then the wind switched SE, increased, and bumped it up. But now the wind is lightening up some so it’s not as choppy as a little while ago. Go with this note for your evening update. The waves size is somewhat similar… around knee to thigh high with some occasional waist high or so set waves at key spots. Somewhat inconsistent but there are still some set waves to be had. Let’s hope the wind lightens up as we get closer to dark. It has done this the past few days. Overall, it’s not as big or as good as yesterday, which was smaller than the day before. You can see the current surf on our Freemium page , and I’ll post new photos before dark… 7 pm Evening Note #2: New photos taken throughout the day are up in box #3 with the last 2 photos taken this evening after it became choppier. Check out the glassy waves from earlier. There are a few sequences of surfers eating it on their longboards. And this will do it for the day. We will be back early early with another update.. over and out...
Misc….. Did you see where the National Hurricane Center is going to develop a 6 and 7 day forecast? Check it out here.
