Wednesday:
6:55 am: Cloudy and rainy at the beach with a severe weather warning including a tornado warning. The waves look small . The wave height is only about knee high with an occasional thigh high wave. It has semi-glassy conditions early with the heavy heavy rain. . The local pier data shows the wind is SSW @ 6-7 knots, the marine forecast calls for S and SW winds at 20-25 knots today (see up to the minute wind info here). The local buoy is showing wind waves of 3.0 feet at 5 seconds up form yesterdays 2.6 feet at 4.5 seconds .
11:45 am: After heavy rain and severe weather warnings earlier, there is not much size as the tide backs out. Small scale ESE lines around a foot on sets and that is about it. Uggg..
2:00 pm: Passing rain with a small scale south swell It is ridable as you can see in the photos in box #2. A few surfers & bodyboarders out, but not many…
6:55 pm: Evening note: Small scale south swell as we get close to high tide. Not much change in size from earlier. Some knee to occasionally thigh high waves. Some ridable rights on the inside. Mushy and small but it is not flat. Cloudy and overcast at the beach…

The small E/SE swell will fade on Wednesday as the offshore wind increases ahead of a rare late May “cold” front. The front will push through Florida on Thursday. Check out Dean’s Surf Station Surf Forecast for which direction our surf will be heading leading into Memorial Day.
