6 Hour Forecast: Tiny surf from the N again today. Knee high for the most part but may come up a little

Comments:

6:30 am ... Still flat or real close to it. Tiny north swell but it's way less than knee high as it gets light early on this Tuesday morning. The wind is light WNW early (check the wind here).

The local buoy is reading around .3. feet @ 5 seconds, down from yesterday's 6.6 feet at 5 second..but the swell direction is still going out to sea with the swell direction NNW. The marine forecast calls for gusty N shifting to NE winds today.

Here is the live surf cam. if you want to see the ocean live early this morning.

7:15 am... Early morning sunrise photos are up in box #1 and it may not be completely flat like first reported. I may have to bump up the size a tad on the next update according to the photos just posted. But the pics make it look a little bigger than it really is as it looks close to flat from here. Guess you could longboard at the right tide and spot...

9:35 am....   The WNW wind has gone NNW then N and now looks to be going NNE and increasing some.    So it's becoming choppy now.   There goes the clean little lines.   Not that it had much size anyway... but it'll not look even sort of worth a go with the wind on it...

*plug-plug: What?! Just in, handshaped Cole Simlers from California! Also, new Flexlite Chillis and Placebos! Wow, even more new boards from Stretch! Handshaped epoxy quads from the hot Santa Cruz shaper!* Plus new locally shaped Warriors are in, including Quad Longboards... stop by and lOOk.

The Surf Station Surf Forecast:

2-Day Wind/Wave Discussion (5/13/08):

Please Note: Due to wildfire duties in south Brevard county over the next several days (and possibly beyond given the fire weather), updates to my forecast will be sporadic at best. The forecast is generally accurate for now with building surf starting Tuesday afternoon, peaking out Wednesday evening/Thursday morning, then cleaner but diminishing to end the work week with another offshore wind beat down (and probably more wildfires) on the way Friday afternoon and Saturday ahead of the next dry cold front.

Strong low winding up off the mid-Atlantic coast earlier in the work week will deepen as it departs, encouraging a NE swell to build starting Tuesday afternoon into Thursday morning, please see the 5-Day Forecast. -Dean
