Comments:
7:45 am... The offshore winds of yesterday have blown the surf near flat overnight.
On the local buoy , we have an early groundswell reading of 1.3 feet at 10 seconds, down from yesterdays 2.6 feet at 9.1 seconds. The wind is W (see data here: The Pier) , with the marine forecast is calling for continued W winds today. 8:00 am... Early morning photos are up in box #1 (and you can see the ocean moving on the SS recorded cam clips page here) and you can see it's real small. With the 1.0 at 10 second reading on the buoy offshore there will be some occasional longboard lines at the right tide and spot today. Overall it's super small and weak though...
12:45 pm... The wind has picked up offshore so it's more windblown now. Small scale lines that do work their way in as the buoy is still around 1.3 feet at 10 seconds. That would be a small day anyway, but with strong offshores blowing into it, it's even more of a struggle for these leftover groundswells..
7:15 pm... Evening note: Even on the near flat days there can be a little wave. As you can see in the new photos in box #3 there were some occasional longboard waves (like we talked about at 8 am this morning). The strong offshores didn't completely kill the swell.
